Director-General's Office
-
The Director-General is responsible to the Chairman of the Governing Council of
the ITF and the Minister of Industry.

The Director-General formulates policies and provides corporate leadership and
vision for the ITF.

As Chief Executive, he presides over all Management deliberations of the ITF
and directs all administration services.

The Director-General formulates fiscal policies, controls and directs financial
transactions of the ITF in his capacity as Chief Accounting Officer.

The Director-General plans and controls all ITF's HRD policies and programmes
and directs ITF's national and international interactions and interventions.

Finance and Accounts

Monitor and ensure adequate execution, acquisition, maintenance and safeguard
of Capital Assets required for effective corporate performance of the Fund.

Prepare Fund's Annual Budget and maintain budgetary control.

Plan, coordinate and supervise revenue generation activities of the Fund.

Execute all financial and monetary policies of the Fund.

Prepare Fund's Annual accounts for external audit.

Advise Management and Governing Council on financial matters.

Settle all financial commitments of the Fund including staff emoluments and
pensions.
Business Training Development
-
Set standards for Human Resource Development practice in both private and
public Sectors of the National economy.

Identify training needs of organizations.
-
Design/Develop and Implement programmes to meet training needs.
-
Evaluate, review and update training programmes regularly to meet the needs of
clients.
-
Conduct specialized in-company training programmes for improving productivity
and efficiency in industry and commerce.
-
Conduct Diagnostic Studies for Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs).
-
Provide pedagogy (instructional) training facilities and materials for
enhancing quality of training packages and delivery.
-
Develop a library of training aids for the Fund and Clients.
-
Advise organizations on Human Capital Development, particularly in Business and
Commercial Services.
Field Services
-
Monitor, Assess and Evaluate all activities of Headquarters Departments, Area
Offices and Training Centres of the Fund.

Coordinate Students Industrial Work Experience Scheme (SIWES) through liaison
with Supervisory Agencies (NUC, NBTE and NCCE) as well as other SIWES
Stakeholders such as Federal Ministries of Education and Industry, Employers of
Labour and Institutions.

Coordinate and prepare comprehensive Annual Returns on SIWES.

Organize Conferences, Workshops, Seminars and Meetings on SIWES matters.

Monitor Course Approval and process Training Reimbursement Claims.(Download

Review and produce operational guidelines for Students Industrial Work
Experience Scheme and Training Reimbursement.

Provide Diagnostic Data for Management's Medium and Long-Term Plans and
coordinate the preparation of Corporate Strategic Rolling and Annual Work
Plans.

Prepare and produce unified Corporate Work Plan and monitor its implementation.

Facilitate Fund's participation in the National Council On Industry Meetings.
Industrial Training Development
-
Design and execute Skills Acquisition Training Programmes required in commerce
and Industry.

Develop job specifications in various skill areas.
-
Conduct skills improvement training in areas of needs in Commerce and Industry.
-
Supervise, evaluate and monitor Apprenticeship Schemes in collaboration with
relevant Agencies.

Establish National Standard for all Vocational Skills Training.

Test and certify graduates of approved Vocational Training Centre.
Consultancy Research & Information Technology
-
Conduct empirical studies on manpower/skills requirements in specific sectors
of the National Economy.

Review and assess the impact of specific training programmes of the Fund.

Compile Directory and prepare Data Bank on ITF activities.
-
Undertake Process Consultancy for contributing and non-contributing
Organizations.
-
Manage information resources of ITF through the use of Information and
Communication Technology.
-
Develop specialized programmes for client organizations resulting from
commissioned diagnosis.

Provide Library Services to the Fund.
