WE WILL ASSIST ITF TO ACHIEVE IT’S GOAL - HON. AGIDANI

The Chairman, House Committee on Industry, Hon. Solomon Agidani has called on the Industrial Training Fund and its supervising Ministry to organise an interactive forum that will bring together all relevant stakeholders as well as his Committee to a table of deliberation that will ascertain the contingent issues that are hindering the Fund’s efforts in achieving its target goals.

Hon. Agidani disclosed this while on an oversight function to the Fund’s Headquarters in Jos recently.

Earlier on in his address, the Chairman of the ITF Governing Council, Alh. Bode Oyedele attributed the Fund’s major problem to inadequate funding of SIWES from the Federal Government. Adding that the Fund offices have become a demonstration ground for students demanding for their SIWES claims.

In his opening remarks, the Director General of the Industrial Training Fund, Prof. Longmas S. Wapmuk, represented by the Director of Finance and Accounts Department, Mrs. Fatima Usman stated that the Fund has always risen up to the challenges confronting it with the zeal of salvaging the country’s industrial sector despite the contemporary global economic recession.
