ITF ELEVATES 685 STAFF
Management
of the Industrial Training Found has approved the promotion about 685 member of
its workforce.
The
promotion, which was released recently, was in fulfillment of earlier promises
by the Director General of the ITF, Associate Professor Longmas
Sambo Wapmuk during visits
to some ITF Area offices late last year.
Before the
recent exercise, most staff of the fund had gone for seven years or more
without elevation.
A
breakdown of the list of those promoted showed that 44 were upgraded or
converted following the acquisition of higher education qualification or had
requested a change of cadre.
The list
that is displayed at the Fund’s Headquarter in Jos
also showed that 146 senior staff between grade level 07 to 16 were considered
while 233 between level 03 to 07 were equally elevated.
Announcing
the promotions, the Director General in a circular stated that the successful
candidates all met the criteria for promotion contained in the ITF condition of
service.
The
circular that was signed on behalf of the DG by Director of Admin & Human
Resources, Tim Omoruyi, urged the successful
candidates to prove their worth.
Reacting
to the promotion, Chairman of the Amalgamated union of public Corporation,
civil service, Technical and Recreational Employees (AUCPTRE), Ladan Umar Dauda,
in a letter of appreciation to the Director General expressed the union’s
gratitude for the exercise which he stated benefited 90 percent of the Union’s
members.
While
praising the DG for remaining true to his promises to give staff welfare a
boost, he said the union commitment to repaying the goodwill with hard work.
