ITF PARTNER WITH UNIVERSITY OF JOS

The Industrial Training Fund has concluded arrangements to enter into a collaborative research with the University of Jos on SIWES.

 

Speaking during a courtesy call on the Vice Chancellor of the University of Jos recently the Director General of IT, Associate Prof. Longmas Sambo Wapmuk said that proposal for the research titled ‘An evaluation of SIWES and its impact on Technical Skills Development in Nigeria’ which was sent to the ITF had been approved.                                                                                

 

Appreciating the high quality and quantity of Academic staff in the University of Jos, he gave indications that there would be further collaboration between the two institutions, since both are in the business of Human Resource Development.

 

The ITF DG expressed the hope that with his visit, officials of the two institutions will discuss at different levels on how to collaborate meaningfully for the effective execution of their various mandates.

 

In his response, the VC, Prof. Sonny Tyoden said that the visit of the ITF DG was like a homecoming as he is still considered part of the University.

 

He said that their presence in the two institutions would put them in a good stead to interact positively for the progress of the both organizations.

 

While thanking the DG for his decisive action on the SIWES partnership between the two institutions, he pointed out that the proposal was sent to the ITF even before the coming of Associate Prof. Wapmuk, which makes the approval more remarkable.
