IKEJA CLINCHES BEST AREA OFFICE AWARD

Ikeja Area Office has emerged the best Area Office in overall performance for the year 2006. Trailing the Area Office were Abeokuta and Lokoja Area Offices that won the second position and third positions respectively.

The Director-General of the Industrial Training Fund, Associate Professor Longmas Sambo Wapmuk at the recent 2006 End of Year and Award Ceremony at the Centre for Excellence said the area offices were chosen for their outstanding performances in financial management, SIWES and training among other criterion.

Other winners of the day were Abeokuta Area office that carted home the best Area office in Training while Ikeja and Lokoja Area Offices were adjudged second and third respectively.

In the area of financial management, Lagos Island was adjudged the best, followed by Apapa and Kano Area Offices.

In the staff Merit Award category, the Director of Finance and Accounts, Mrs. Fatima Usman led the list of winners, clinching the award for category “A”, while Mr. Vincent Eking also of Finance and Accounts Department was announced as the winner for Category “B”.

For category “C” award, Sabo Baba Zakari of Centre for Excellency was declared the winner, while Mr. Joseph S. Aruwa of Jos Area Office, and Saleh Mamuda of Administration and Human Resource Department smiled home with category “D” and “E” awards respectively.

In her response on behalf of the awardees Mrs. Fatima Usman, thanked the Fund for finding them worthy of the awards. She pledged their total loyalty, commitment to duty and hard work to the Fund.
