WAPMUK LAUDS CONTRIBUTIONS OF

EMIR OF NASARAWA TO THE ITF

The Director General of the Industrial Training Fund, Professor Longmas Sambo Wapmuk has commended the contributions of former ITF DG and Emir of the Nassarawa Emirate, Alhaji Hassan Ahmed 11, mni, to the Fund.

Specifically, Prof. Wapmuk praised the former DG’s vision as exemplified by the construction of the current headquarters of the Fund on Miango road, Jos, the construction of the Fund’s Centre for Excellence located in Bukuru and the commencement of construction work on the Corporate Headquarters in Abuja.

The DG who was speaking during a courtesy visit paid on him by the Emir assured that he will continue with the good works and vision that the former had done in the Fund.

The Emir of Nassarawa in his response said he was happy about what was happening in the ITF especially as it relates to the current changes in the Fund. He exhorted staff not to be afraid of change, as according to him, change was a natural thing and urged the staff to embrace the changes, as they cannot do otherwise. “What we are seeing is a natural thing; change we must have whether we like or not” he said.

Appreciating that many staff may have developed trepidation over the retirement that normally accompanies such exercises, he advised staff that rather than the fear, they should be happy noting that retirement could be rewarding and fulfilling. In his words: “ITF staff should not be afraid of retirement because it could sometimes be very rewarding and fulfilling”.
