ITF SUPPORTS PEACE ON THE PLATEAU |
In
his effort to encourage sustainable peace on the Plateau, ITF
Director-General, Professor Longmas Wapmuk has said that ITF will collaborate
with any willing organization or Association to ensure sustainable peace on
the Plateau. |
He
gave this remarks during a courtesy visit paid on him by the Acting
Commissioner of Police, Mr. Ikechukwu Aduba recently. |
Expressing
deep concern, Professor Wapmuk pleaded with the police to give adequate
protection to ITF and her personnel and the state in general especially at
this time. |
He
also assured the police Commissioner of ITF’s
full support at all times. |
Responding,
the Acting Commissioner of Police, Mr. Aduba used the forum to advice citizens
to desist from taking laws into their hands as the police will not condone
such acts of lawlessness on the Plateau. |
He
urged the media to use their organs to advocate and promote peace rather than
projecting the state and the country at large negatively. “The positive side
of our country must always be highlighted and broadcast for all the world to
see at all times”, he said, noting that this will encourage investors and
tourists to flock to Nigeria and thus improve the economy. |
