ARI, 4 OTHERS INDUCTED AS NIPR FELLOWS

The Head Public Relations and Publicity Unit, Mr. Joseph Ari and four others were recently inducted as fellows of the Nigeria Institute of Public Relations. Other inductees during the occasion that took place at the city Hall in Lafia, Nasarawa State Capital were, Senator Joseph Waku, Professor John Sambe, Mallam Haroun Audu and Mr. Peter Oyeneye.

The Induction was conducted by President of the Institute, Professor Ikechukwu Nwosu.

Congratulating the new fellows, the Chairman Board of Fellows, Mr. Frank Tamuno Koko described the fellowship which is the highest position that can be aspired to in Public Relations as NIPR’s equivalent of the Senior Advocate of Nigeria (SAN) that is normally conferred on Lawyers. He said the award came with some challenges which include the maintenance of the highest Professional standards and upholding of the ethics. He warned the new fellows that the fellowship remained the property of the NIPR and would be withdrawn in the event of misdemeanour.

Speaking on behalf of the new fellows, Sir Joseph Ari said the investiture marked the dawn of a new era in public relations practice as the fellows would work with the leadership towards the attainment of the two guiding principles of PR practice- professionalism and excellence.

Ari stated that the investiture for him was significant as it coincides with the ITF Management’s new vision of re-branding and repositioning of the Fund’s activities. He said when these plans yield results; the Organised Private Sector and other employers of labour would have greater value for their investment in ITF.
