ZAMFARA STATE GOVERNOR APPLAUDS ITF TRAINING

The Executive Governor of Zamfara State, His Excellency, Alhaji Mahmud Aliyu Shinkafi (Dallatun Zamfara), has commended the Industrial Training Fund for its quality training and advisory services to the state government and organizations.  In a message presented by Secretary to the State Government Alhaji Muhammad Bawa Gusau (Tafidan Gusau) at the opening ceremony of a 3 – Day Workshop organized by ITF for Directors and Deputy Directors of Finance in the state, the Governor urged the participants to avail themselves of the vast pool of knowledge in the ITF stressing that the workshop requires dedication and intellectualism from the participants, so that at the end of the exercise, government and the people of the state would be proud of having financial officers who are exposed to the dynamics and emerging trends of modern  public sector financial accounting.

Restating his commitment to capacity building in the state, Gov. Shinkafi said rapid proliferation of challenges in the financial sector calls for training and retraining of financial officers, arguing that the realization of the expected dividends of democracy depends largely on prudent allocation and management of financial resources. The control of the financial resource of the state, according to him required strategic, reflective reasoning and necessary skills.

Earlier in a welcome address, ITF Chief Executive, Professor Longmas Sambo Wapmuk observed that the Industrial and agro-allied sectors of the state can only be nurtured by a civil service manned by skilled and committed personnel and this puts a lot of premium on human capital development. To this extent, he offered to lend the experience and expertise in vocational and apprentice training to strengthen the 20 skills acquisition centres and enhance their effectiveness in the state.
